Fun fact: Dr. Ellie Arroway from Carl Sagan’s “Contact” was one of my first, favorite character role models. I first watched the movie when I was 11, and absolutely loved her. 

I still love her, in all honesty. 

When I was 9, I watched Star Trek Voyager every evening. Janeway was my first role model. But then 5 years went by with not having any role models like her, and then I watched Contact.
It feels like I am 9 again…
